From Louisville, KY: Merge onto I-64 W toward NEW ALBANY/ST LOUIS, Take the IN-135 exit- exit number 105- toward PALMYRA/CORYDON, Merge onto IN-135 S toward CORYDON, Turn RIGHT onto KY-79, Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto US-60, Turn LEFT onto KY-259/KY-79, Turn LEFT to stay on KY-79, End at 14500 Falls Of Rough Rd, Falls Of Rough, KY 40119-6313 US. Distance is approximately 78 miles. OR FROM LOUISVILLE:  Take Gene Snyder and Exit off on Hwy. 31W.  Turn left at ramp light and stay on 31W till you TURN RIGHT onto US 60 East.  Approx. 45 miles and TURN LEFT onto HWY 261.  Go approx. 8 miles and TURN LEFT onto HWY 105 / 79.  Stay straight and end at my office or the dam in approximately 8 miles.

From Owensboro, KY: Start out going South on US-431/FREDERICA ST toward W 3RD ST, Turn LEFT onto US-60 E/W 4TH ST, Turn RIGHT onto US-231 S/US-60 BYP W, Take the KY-54 exit- exit number 9- toward EAST PARRISH AVENUE/LEITCHFIELD/OWENSBORO, Turn LEFT onto KY-54/LEITCHFIELD RD. Continue to follow KY-54, Turn LEFT onto KY-110 W, Turn LEFT onto KY-79, End at 14500 Falls Of Rough Rd, Falls Of Rough, KY 40119-6313 US. Distance is approximately 42 miles.

From Bowling Green, KY: Start out going Northeast on STATE ST toward E 11TH AVE, Turn LEFT onto KY-234 N/E 6TH AVE. Continue to follow E 6TH AVE, Stay straight to go onto VETERANS MEMORIAL LN ,Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto KY-185/GORDEN AVE. Continue to follow KY-185, KY-185 becomes KY-79, End at 14500 Falls Of Rough Rd, Falls Of Rough, KY 40119-6313 US. Distance is approximately 48 miles.

From Elizabethtown, KY: 3. Turn LEFT onto US-62 W/KY-61 S/N MULBERRY ST. Continue to follow US-62 W, Take the US-31W-BY-PASS S ramp, Merge onto US-31W BYP S/ELIZABETHTOWN BYP, Take the WK PARKWAY ramp, Merge onto WENDELL H FORD WESTERN KENTUCKY PKWY W, Take the KY-259 exit- exit number 107- toward BROWNSVILLE/LEITCHFIELD, Turn LEFT onto KY-259/S MAIN ST, Turn RIGHT, Turn RIGHT onto KY-54/W MAIN ST. At REAL DEAL REALTY, LLC we think the Rough River Lake area is beautiful no matter what the season. In winter, I like to think of it as a time of resting and renewing of ourselves. As the earth is wrapped in a white snow jacket, she is at peace with nature. Fortunately our winter does not last as long as our poor Michigan friends who get here on a 40* sun shinny day and think it’s a heat wave! Most of the time, the snows only last a few days and the temps never stay too far below the teens for an extended period.

Spring can be absolutely gorgeous and rich in the jewel tone colors of nature.  Red bud, dog woods, forsythia bushes, tulips, daffodils and more flowering plants than I can name, grace the rolling hillsides of new green.  A time of rebirth and getting us motivated to “come to life” after a sleepy winter.

Ahhh, summer! The buzz of boats and giggles of children swimming are music to our ears. A spirit of fun is everywhere. Vegetation is lush and green. Casual dress and the atmosphere for instant fun is everywhere. Driving past the camp grounds and recreational areas, picnic tables full of goodies and the whiff of a charcoal grill makes your mouth water. Want a laid back atmosphere? Come to Rough River and live the good life!

Fall is one of my favorite times. Providing we have had just the right amount of rainfall, our falls are spectacular. My sister lives in Colorado and I had the opportunity to see for myself what westerners think is fantastic about the aspens. Well, let me tell you……as beautiful as the aspens are, Rough River trees with leaves turning bright red, orange and gold can shame the most colorful jewels in a crown fit for a king! October is the peak month for autumn viewing.
